And when he looked around, it probably felt like nobody cared. Vincent van Gogh sold just one painting during his lifetime. One. Today, millions of people stand in line to see his work. His paintings hang in museums around the world. His name became one of the most recognized in art history. The hard part is that he never got to see any of it. This video hit me because it isn't really about Van Gogh. It's about every person who has ever wondered if their effort matters. The parent trying their best. The business owner posting into the void. The artist creating after everyone else has gone home. The employee quietly doing good work that nobody notices. We all want proof that what we're doing is making a difference. But life doesn't always give immediate feedback. Sometimes the reward comes later. Sometimes much later. And sometimes the impact you're making is invisible while you're living it. Van Gogh's story is a reminder that results and value are not always on the same timeline. Keep doing the work. The view from today may not tell the whole story. Dogs can sense absence. As your scent fades from their environment, they recognize it and that’s when feelings like longing and separation anxiety begin to surface. And when you return? That explosion of joy isn’t just excitement it’s a powerful emotional reunion. Loyalty, love, and connection in their purest form.

We rarely talk about the ones who never get the chance. People who never heard about trials. People who feel the process is too complex. People who live too far from a site. People who never see recruitment efforts because they do not meet them where they are People who may simply not understand a trial because of language barriers. People who cannot afford the financial cost of taking part in a trial - do not kid yourself, there is always a cost. These individuals are not unmotivated. They are unseen… they are the forgotten many Low enrollment is often a visibility issue. Access gaps. Geography. Digital reach. Process complexity, etc... If patients cannot see a pathway, they cannot step into one. Stronger partnerships, simpler discovery, and more flexible models do not just improve recruitment. They reduce invisibility. The video shows a mesenchymal stem cell (MSC) undergoing mitosis: Prophase – DNA condenses into visible chromosomes Metaphase – Chromosomes align in the center Anaphase – Sister chromatids are pulled apart Telophase & Cytokinesis – The cell splits into two daughter cells On paper, the result looks simple: two identical cells. In reality, this is the starting point of two potentially very different biological journeys. MSCs can differentiate into bone, cartilage, muscle, or fat cells - which makes them central players in regenerative medicine. But what determines which path they take? Mechanical cues. Oxygen levels. Cell–cell interactions. Signaling gradients. Small differences in context can shape completely different outcomes. Do you use MSCs in your research? Our goal is to hire one person East Coast, one Midwest, and one West Coast to cut down on travel. He was talking about the sheer volume of applications he has to wade through for every role. And the data backs him up — the average UK job posting now receives 280 applications. That is completely overwhelming! But calling candidates "frogs", that misses the point entirely. Yes, candidates are applying for everything. The data shows that 48% of job seekers admit to "spraying and praying" their CVs across the internet. But they are not doing it because they are lazy. They are doing it because they are desperate for a signal. A recent Monster report found that 76% of candidates would apply far more selectively if employers actually provided feedback. When you send 50 tailored applications and hear absolutely nothing back, the rational response is to stop tailoring and start playing the numbers game. The mass application problem is real. But candidates did not create it. They are just trying to survive a system that has stopped talking to them. The UK is raising the bar for clinical research delivery. 🇬🇧 This month, the NIHR and UK Clinical Research Delivery Programme announced new system-wide targets to make trial start-up faster, more efficient, and more transparent. 📅 By March 2026: - Average trial set-up times must drop from 250+ days to under 150 days. - All participating sites are expected to open and recruit their first participant within 90 days of approval or selection. It’s an ambitious goal that could redefine how research happens in the UK. This isn’t just about faster timelines; it’s about patients accessing new treatments sooner, researchers spending less time waiting, and the UK becoming a global benchmark for delivery excellence. 🤝 The NHS Wales Joint Commissioning Committee has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the AWTTC - All Wales Therapeutics & Toxicology Centre to strengthen how medicines are assessed and managed across Wales. Working closely with AWTTC will allow us to respond quickly to emerging treatments and ensure decisions are consistent and evidence-based.
