There's three big things I’ve learnt this week in Paid Media and the energy across hiring teams right now 1. Speed matters, but clarity matters more Paid Media talent moves quickly. The best Performance Marketers aren’t sitting on the market for weeks. But here’s the reality rushed, unclear briefs slow everything down. The teams that are hiring well right now are crystal clear on: What “good” actually looks like Budget ownership (are we talking $200k or $2m+?) Channel split (Google vs Meta vs TikTok vs Programmatic) Commercial impact expectations When the brief is tight, the process flows. When it’s vague, it stalls. Simple 2. Performance Marketers think commercially not just tactically The strongest candidates aren’t just talking CTRs and CPCs They’re talking: Revenue impact MER and blended ROAS LTV Incrementality First-party data strategy There’s a noticeable shift. Businesses want growth drivers, not just campaign managers And the candidates who understand the wider P&L conversation are the ones landing the best roles 3. The energy across hiring teams is genuinely strong Across the board eCommerce, agencies, scale-ups, there’s intent Budgets are being approved New headcount is opening Teams are investing in senior capability What’s been refreshing is the tone of the conversations. Hiring managers aren’t just “testing the market”. They’re engaged. They want advice. They’re open to challenge on salary, structure, and process That kind of partnership energy changes everything It creates momentum And in Paid Media, momentum is exactly what both clients and candidates are chasing If this week is anything to go by, 2026 is shaping up to be a big year for Performance hiring Searchability®

Bad comms might be worse than no comms if every company announcement feels... - spontaneous - vague - reactive - forced You're not giving employees reason to trust you. Not if it feels like they're being kept in the dark. People don't need you to be perfect. But they do need context and consistency. Are your updates reactive and vague vs. predictable and informative?

Reddit is now the fastest-growing platform for UK women 50% of its 30M users are female, and over a third are Gen Z. They come for honest, anonymous advice, not polished content. 45% are mums. Many use it for finance and business insights, skipping LinkedIn noise. As a Reddit service provider, this is where real connection happens. #Reddit #Marketing #Community #Seo

I DON'T FOLLOW TRENDS. I FIND WHAT WORKS. Blowing my own trumpet isn't really my 'thing'. Give me a messy category, too much stock, declining margin, a product range that looks rubbish or has got completely out of hand, and I'm very happy. And after 30+ years across product, category and commercial roles, I've accumulated a fair bit of experience fixing exactly those sorts of problems. So I thought I'd put it all in one place. How I think. How I work. The problems I love solving. And, importantly, the results. There are some numbers. There are some opinions. There is an entirely unnecessary U2 reference and a headshot where my eye looks wonka-tated. And if your business has an interesting commercial problem to solve, we should probably talk. That's enough trumpet. 🎺 Swipe → FRIENDS, DON'T FORGET TO SHARE! #ProductLeadership #CategoryManagement #CommercialLeadership #ProductStrategy #OpenToWork

This company gets nearly 1,000 applicants for every job. 1,000 writers. 1 role. And it's easy to see why. Monzo Bank didn’t just build a brand, they built the tone of voice that every copywriter references. I sat down with Max White, Writing Lead at Monzo, to unpack how they did it, what he looks for in a writer, and the one mistake that'll land your application in the “no” pile.
