It's tough in agencies at the moment, but does it need to be? For all the obvious reasons a lot of agencies are struggling. So, in the spirit of when our industry does well, we all do well - I thought I'd share some learnings.  When I rejoined OLIVER in January 2025 it was the first time I was in an exclusively sales focused role. I'd always done 'new biz' in my other roles, but 'sales' is a very different mindset.  The switch to pure sales was bigger than I'd anticipated in some respects. In other areas it was much more familiar, it was just a case of applying the principles of B2B marketing that I have used with many clients over the years. If I compare Jan 2025 with now, these are some of changes we've driven: - You can never have enough: Pipeline has grown by 425% - Big is nearly always best: Avg deal size has grown by 109% pa - Go all in: Win rate has improved, but has further room to increase - Cash is king: In yr net new rev has increased by 100% None of this is the result of work done in 2026, this is all the work of the foundations set in 2025, which included: - Pay to play: We turned on paid linkedin activity and targeted it our prospect list - It's a numbers game: We started using automated sequences via hubspot to drive engagement with prospect audience in large volumes  - Make it personal: We dialled up our owned and partner event activity, the impact was immediate  - Time is precious: We have been much more discerning about which leads we qualify in  Whether you are a sole trader, in an agency or b2b organisation in another category, the b2b marketing principles are the same. They are proven but I am surprised how often they are not followed. If you follow them, you will increase your pipeline and you will win more.
