Nordic energy company Fortum has joined Norrsken Evolve as a limited partner through its innovation and venture arm. The investment comes after Norrsken Evolve closed its €62 million fund this summer. The fund was oversubscribed, meaning it received more investor interest than the amount it planned to raise. Norrsken Evolve is a pre-seed investment fund that supports founders building companies focused on a more sustainable and resilient Europe. So far, the fund has backed more than 80 startups, with 75% later raising additional funding. DTCP has announced the first closing of its DTCP Defence Fund I, with €455 million in commitments from European institutional and strategic investors. The investor group includes Deutsche Telekom, Porsche SE, EIFO, Danica, and SmartCap. DTCP has also created a dedicated investment team focused on defence, security, and resilience technologies. Amsterdam-based fintech Duqu has raised €1.5 million in pre-Seed funding from Curiosity VC and No Such Ventures. The company provides short-term financing to businesses against unpaid B2B invoices and uses AI to assess funding applications. Duqu helps businesses access money they have already earned but are still waiting to receive from customers. This gives companies access to cash before their invoices are paid. The company is addressing the cash-flow problems caused by late invoice payments. Duqu says 46% of B2B invoices in the Netherlands are paid after their due dates. Delays can make it harder for businesses to cover everyday costs such as salaries, inventory, marketing and hiring. Naples-based infrastructure software company CLASTIX has raised €2.9 million in a Seed funding round. This is the company’s first external funding round. Clastix helps businesses manage and run Kubernetes more efficiently at scale. Its software is designed to make it easier for companies to handle large and complex infrastructure. Cologne-based company Metycle has secured a €129 million ($150 million) credit facility to support its business and growth plans. Metycle supplies recycled copper and aluminium to customers. The company focuses on the market for secondary metals, helping businesses source materials for reuse. The latest investment brings Spiich’s total funding to €3.6 million. The company is developing AI-powered tools to help sales teams with their work.
