Today marks the successful completion of the sale of Petrofac Emirates to a consortium of financial investors led by Mason Capital Management LLC (“Mason”) and Pearlstone Alternative (UK) LLP, following the satisfaction of all required conditions and approvals. Tareq Kawash, Chief Executive Officer of Petrofac Emirates, said: “The completion of this transaction marks a significant milestone for Petrofac Emirates and the beginning of an important new chapter for the business. After 26 years’ service and more than six weeks at sea, the Northern Endeavour FPSO has reached a pivotal point in its decommissioning journey, arriving at the Modern American Recycling Services (MARS) in Frederikshavn, Denmark, where it will undergo final dismantling and recycling. 🚢 Working with COSCO SHIPPING Heavy Transport (COSCO), the 55,000‑tonne, 247‑metre‑long vessel was loaded onto COSCO’s semi‑submersible heavy transport vessel, Hua Rui Long. This required eight tugboats, two line handling vessels, and six and a half hours of precision coordination, a testament to our teams’ logistical expertise.  Josie Philips, Vice President of Asset Solutions in the APAC region, commented, "Getting the vessel to this point was only possible through the positive team culture, hard work and resilience of our decommissioning team, both onshore and offshore, our local and international supply chain partners and everyone who has supported along the way.  “This very challenging project has provided a robust blueprint for decommissioning projects in Australia and beyond and reinforces Petrofac’s position as a leader in late-life asset management and decommissioning work.” 📸 Thanks to the Australian Government Department of Industry, Science and Resources for providing following images of the Northern Endeavour.
