We’ve gone behind the scenes to explore the people, expertise and craftsmanship that go into making our Wool Overshirt. From the heritage of Abraham Moon & Sons to the skilled makers in East London, we’re celebrating a shared belief in quality, craftsmanship and creating pieces made to last.

We sat down with the experts behind the making of our bestselling Wool Overshirt to explore the journey behind one of our beloved Peregrine staples. The journey begins at Abraham Moon & Sons historic Yorkshire mill with almost two centuries of wool-weaving expertise. As one of the UK’s few remaining vertical mills, they oversee the entire process under one roof, creating cloth with distinctive character and exceptional quality. The cloth then travels south to a family-run factory in East London where the finished Wool Overshirt is made. A journey shaped by generations of craftsmanship, quality and care. At the end of last month, we had the privilege of visiting one of our long-standing suppliers, Abraham Moon & Sons, to film their remarkable manufacturing process. As one of the few remaining fully vertical woollen mills in the UK, Moon takes scoured wool through every stage of production, transforming it into a finished roll of cloth entirely in-house. It's an extraordinary process to witness, and a testament to the skill, heritage and craftsmanship that goes into every metre of fabric. At Peregrine, our wool overshirt has become one of our core staples. It's made using Moon's iconic wool cloth, woven in Leeds and then manufactured into finished garments in London. With the entire journey taking place within just 200 miles. By keeping our manufacturing chain close to home, we're able to minimise manufacturing miles while supporting British industry and craftsmanship. It was a genuinely insightful day. Seeing the care, precision and attention to detail at every stage of the process reinforces exactly why Abraham Moon & Sons has earned its reputation. Last week, our team had the pleasure of visiting our yarn supplier, Shepley Yarns HQ in Diggle. Roger gave us a fantastic tour of the warehouse, sharing the rich history of their brand and diving into why wool is such an incredible, vital material. Next, we followed the journey of the fibre itself: - British Wool (Bradford): We visited the co-operative where British wool yarn is sourced, getting a first hand look at how fleeces are graded before going to auction. - Haworth Scouring: Just a stone's throw away, we saw how the wool is washed and refined. They remove lanolin, organic matter, and... well, other farm-y elements! Step by step, we watched it transform from a raw fleece into a refined, velvety rope of carded wool.
