Following false reports in the media earlier today about the NSPCC's guidance for schools on children using changing rooms, we would like to clarify our advice and position👇 Image description: “We advise that adults supervising children in changing rooms are of the same sex as the children. This is clearly set out in our NSPCC Sport guidance. Our briefing for schools reflects government guidance which is currently unclear on this issue. Our briefing does not say adults of the opposite sex should supervise children changing. Today marks the Government’s deadline for tech companies to introduce nudity blocking technology on children’s phones and tablets. With that deadline now passed, we’re calling on Government to follow through on its commitment and legislate so strong, consistent protections are in place across children’s devices.   Young people using our Childline service mentioned experiencing sexual abuse on Snapchat, TikTok, Instagram, Discord and WhatsApp in almost 900 separate counselling sessions last year    Keeping children safe online requires action from tech companies, Government and the adults around them.
