What does your support make possible? Let us show you. ⬇️ We recently visited the incredible research team at Loughborough University to see their work first-hand. 🧑🔬 💄🧴 Dr Mhairi A Morris, PhD and PhD student Ellie Hitchcock are investigating how Endocrine Disrupting Chemicals (EDCs) found in everyday cosmetics could affect the cells within breast tissue - and whether this could contribute to breast cancer progression. 🔬 Using 3D models made from human breast cancer tissue, known as patient-derived organoids, the team is helping us understand more about how exposure to these chemicals, alone and in combination, may affect breast tissue. Research like this is at the heart of our mission to prevent breast cancer - and it’s only possible thanks to the generous support of our community. Your donation helps us fund the next generation of breast cancer prevention research and brings us closer to a future where fewer people face breast cancer. Watch the full video below, and consider giving what you can to continue to fund vital research. Thank you. 🧡 👉https://lnkd.in/eTpC_YPH #BreastCancerUK #BreastCancerPrevention #BreastCancerResearch #CancerResearch #EndocrineDisruptingChemicals #LoughboroughUniversity

Making breast cancer prevention a reality. At least 1 in 4 breast cancer cases can be prevented.
About us
At Breast Cancer UK, we believe in a future where fewer people have to face breast cancer as we know that at least 1 in 4 breast cancers are preventable through lifestyle and environmental factors. We exist to make that potential a reality: by empowering people with knowledge, driving evidence-based research, and campaigning for systemic change. We guide people on practical steps to reduce their risk of breast cancer, from diet and weight management to avoiding harmful chemicals and advocating for healthier environments. A distinctive area of our work is shining a spotlight on Endocrine Disrupting Chemicals (EDCs) — substances in everyday products that may interfere with hormones and increase cancer risk. We collaborate with like-minded organisations to amplify our voice on this critical issue, and we fund research we believe has the potential to be a “game-changer.”

Did you know Breast Cancer UK is turning 25 this year? 🎂 It all started in 2001 around a kitchen table, where a small group of friends were brought together by one woman's frustration that breast cancer research only focused on treatment, not prevention. 25 years on, that kitchen-table conversation has grown into a national movement. So far, we have: 🍼 Helped ban the chemical BPA from baby bottles 🧪Built a free A-Z database of chemicals of concern 📝Launched a personalised Prevention Quiz 🌍Hosted global experts at our Breast Cancer Prevention Conferences 📈Grown four-fold since 2020 And we're not done. In fact, we believe our biggest impact is still ahead of us. 💪💥 With #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth right around the corner, we're reflecting on 25 years of dedication to our founding purpose: building a world that prioritises prevention. Not everyone knows that 1 in 4 breast cancer cases could be prevented. Share this post to help us reach more people with our life-changing work. 🧡 #BreastCancerUK #BreastCancerPrevention #BreastCancerResearch #CancerPrevention #CharityImpact #Anniversary #OurStory

What happens when you give your team permission to be creative? 💡 Our latest Lunchtime Learning session saw the entire Breast Cancer UK team step away from our day-to-day and come together to try something completely different: a virtual beginners’ drawing class, hosted by William Stevens from Paint and Draw. There were plenty of laughs, unexpected talent and – as you can see – some very proud artists! 👩🎨🖼️ Providing the space to try something new and get creative together isn’t just for fun. It gives us an opportunity to recharge, sparks new ideas and allows us to stay connected as a remote team – all of which helps make our work better. 🌟 From still life to Michael Cain tributes, we loved the opportunity to challenge ourselves and learn new skills. Thank you, Will, for leading such an inspiring session! 🧡 #BreastCancerUK #TeamCulture #LunchtimeLearning #CreativityAtWork #CharityLife #NonProfit #TeamBuilding

This is your reminder that fundraising can look however you want it to – including like a beach at sunrise. Just ask Fiona. 🌅 Fiona was diagnosed with breast cancer in November 2025. As well as leaning on her loved ones for support, Fiona found that exercise – like walking, cycling and swimming – helped her get through that difficult time. 🏊 She came out of treatment determined to give something back. 💪 Her love of open-water swimming gave her the perfect vehicle. So, she gathered 40 of her friends and family on Hayling Beach at 4.30am to mark this year's summer solstice with a sunrise swim in aid of Breast Cancer UK. 🌊✨ The conditions were perfect, the moment was special, and together they raised over £2,000 for breast cancer prevention. 🎉 What we love most about Fiona's story is the reminder that fundraising doesn't have to mean running a marathon. It can look like sharing a sunrise with the people you love. 🧡 With Breast Cancer Awareness Month arriving in October, we're asking: could you turn your favourite way to move your body into a fundraising moment? 💡 A run, a swim, a cycle, a hike - whatever it looks like, we'll support you every step of the way. 🌟 Download our free fundraising pack today to get started. ⬇️ 🔗 https://lnkd.in/eezqM8sg #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth #BreastCancerUK #Fundraising #BreastCancerPrevention #ActiveFundraising #CharityChallenge #MoveMore
