Metal Garden
A downloadable game for Windows
A nomad wanders the far reaches of an overgrown megastructure, a world built for a forgotten purpose in which countless civilizations have lived entombed for ages.
But when the mech they use to traverse its vast distances breaks, they remain stranded in its hostile wilds beneath a concrete sky.
- - -
Travel through an overgrown megastructure, and discover what lies beyond it. Metal Garden is a short, atmospheric singleplayer FPS game that can be finished in a single sitting (one to three hours).

- Atmospheric visuals inspired by mid-00s games.
- Responsive movement and combat.
- A sci-fi mystery story revealed through exploration of the game's spaces.
- An injury system that asks you to manage not only your health, but also your individual body parts.

Hello, I don't speak english and im hoping you respond to me since ive found an exploit in your game. in the ventilation rooms you can glitch through the map and simply walk to wherever you want to. If your interested in fixing it please reach out to me. Thank you for the masterpiece of a game.
its FPS Kenshi, the dream.
Played and beat this on steam, honestly a banger short game. Having bouncing betty-like mines was absolutely devious, I thought it was a little supply surprise at first, made me scream.
Love what you’ve built!
I’m building something called TWT Community — it helps people create their own communities to bring fans together and share updates.
Would be cool to explore a way to work together sometime.
Incredible work, stripped back to be just what it needs. The environments are so immersive and have a feeling of scale most modern games just don’t understand. I’m really impressed by this and I love the texture work. There’s a lot of design philosophy people can learn.
Ok few things, firstly, this game LOOKS ABSOLUTELY AWESOME, and secondly, is almost EXACTLY what I've imagined in for my own game, from the architecture, the colours, even how it looks and I'm annoyed that a group of really talented Devs beat me to the punch /j Honestly I cant tell you how inspired you've made me. Never stop making cool games
THIS GAME IS FANTASTIC!
How long it took for it to be finished?
Thank you! The game took me about two years of part-time work to make, and then we also did about 6 months of work on updates to get it to it's current state.
love this game! very much look forward to what you can make in the future!
Thank you for being so active with the hotfixes! I keep checking back here to see if there's any new content. Do you plan on adding to this project?
Unfortunately I'm probably not going to add any major new content into the game, my plan right now is to mainly just fix bugs and add support for several more languages. But I would really like to make a sequel or another game in this setting in the future!
I'm really craving a sequel. This is literally one of my favorite games. I got it on Steam a while ago and started searching for your profile to see what else you made, seems like this gem is the only thing you've released so far. I'm really looking forward to whatever you make in the future.
Beginning my second playthrough.
I can't stop thinking about atmosphere of the world you created. I also want to hear the music once more.
Thank you so much for making this game. It was one of the most memorable video game experiences I've ever had. The world gives you such a unique feeling of loneliness, calm but hope at the same time. I look forward to playing more of your games one day!
Hey there. If what you're planning to write is just online fanfiction that you share with your friends, then of course there's no problem with that, you don't really need my permission. However, I can't endorse an officially or commercially released book set in the Metal Garden universe, as that would cause a number of legal issues for me.
Also, speaking as a fellow creative, I'd hugely advise against situating your own large works in other people's IPs and settings. Making a game or writing a book is a ton of work, and you don't want access to it to remain at the whim of an IP holder.
If you're really set on writing this book, I would suggest making your own distinct universe and situating your story within it. Not only will this mean you own your book in it's entirety, but it will also mean you get to make any changes or additions that you want since you'll be working from a fresh base.
Hope this was able to answer your question.
any chance this will come to macOS?
Unfortunately probably not, there's a number of technical issues in porting the game to the mac platform.
I'm amazed how much this feels like a Source Engine game but you've made it in Unreal. If you had any behind the scenes work online I'd love to see it. The art direction is superb!
Its a short game but a really good one, i really like the atmosphere and world. I hope the developer continues to make games cuz this style is great
Hello Tinerasoft !
Your game looks really cool, but it's only in English. If you want, I can translate it into French for you at a very low price. If you want more information, contact me at matlamit20@gmail.com . I would really like to work with you, please reply to me even if it's negative! 👋
Beautiful and great sounding dystopian wastelands; well-paced lore; exciting low-gravity gunfights mixed with simple puzzles — a really well-made atmospheric adventure.
The only flaw I'd name is the somewhat stupid opponents' AI... But that's not a big deal.
I'm gonna buy it, but is it better for you if I buy+review on here or on steam? What gets you more overall? I know the cut is bigger here but sometimes people want steam reviews.
If you plan to leave a review, then buying on Steam helps me out a lot more, since more reviews lead to much better visibility and Steam has a much bigger userbase than Itch. If you don't plan to leave a review, then buying on Itch helps me out more because of the bigger cut :)
Real excellent stuff. I held my breath for nearly the entirety of the last chapter...the sense of mood and the way the journey progresses, the way the spaces look - it's so eye-catching and great at making the world feel larger than you can explore.
an intense end of a journey of which the exit shifts the whole stroll into another perspective
This looks great, would you prefer if I bought it over here, or waited until the Steam release is out so that I can contribute to pushing you over the 10 review threshold?
Hey, glad to hear you think so! If you plan on leaving a review on Steam, that's indeed going to be more helpful, since getting over that initial hurdle could be quite difficult for me. Thank you for the concern, by the way!
looks good 👍
This game looks amazing. I'm really looking forward to playing it.
