It's time to start being angry. Angry about rising costs, rising temperatures, and rising social disparity. As wealth inequality grows, social movements and well-meaning manifestations have been nothing more than corporately co-opted marketing monuments. They've printed it on a t-shirt, payed Meta and Google for some ad placement, glued-up some billboards, and padded themselves on the back for a job well-done.

We are bombarded with advertisements, non-stop notifications, and now, cyclically reasoning models who cannot know anything new. They are not a new life-form. They are a recycled facsimile of our past, a life-less husk scraping our windows, trying to force us to pay attention by regurgitating what we already likely know.

I keep having this experience, I search (ex., for a concept, software project, computer hardware, musician, or topic) for something I would have found, before 2022, referenced on a forum, on a personal blog, in a news article, or on a wiki. Now, and the results returned are a simulacrum of the previous Internet. It's always the same dark colours; same terminal inspired fonts; the same spacing; the forgettable name and logo.

The content is likely the result of processing from a large language model, taking a collection of contextually similar writings and combining them into a website that seems like documentation or a personal blog.

There will come a time when we will not be able to tell the difference between the artificial and the organic.
