Wei Lan, deputy director general of the Shanghai Intellectual Property (IP) Administration, delivered a keynote speech at a sub-forum of the 13th China IP Annual Conference on Sept 14.

The sub-forum was titled "Building a High Ground for IP Services, Establishing a Solid Foundation for Innovative Development". Over 200 representatives from national and local IP administrations, enterprises, universities, research institutions, and service agencies participated.

Wei's speech emphasized three key aspects for creating a top-tier business environment based on IP: a solid institutional framework, a comprehensive service system, and the implementation of best practices that cater to enterprises. He detailed Shanghai's efforts to build a robust IP ecosystem that is more solidly based on the market and rule of law and is up to international standards.

The conference, themed "Empowering New Quality Productive Forces with IP", featured one main forum and 11 sub-forums, with representatives from 39 countries and four international organizations. The event showcased China's latest IP achievements through roadshows and press conferences.
