XJTU delegation visits Uzbekistan
Zhang Liqun, president of Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU), led a delegation to Uzbekistan from Sept 15 to 18 to deepen cooperation and exchanges with the country's leading universities.

Zhang attended the Academician Forum on Green Energy and the XJTU IT Course Series for Central Asia launch ceremony. He also held talks with Uzbekistan's Minister of Higher Education and participated in Uzbekistan's Information and Communication Technology Week (ICT Week).
On Sept 16, the first Academician Forum on Green Energy was held at Samarkand State University in Uzbekistan, co-hosted by XJTU and Samarkand State University. As the convener and chairman of the forum, Zhang invited 11 distinguished scientists and academicians from China, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and other countries to share research findings and solutions on strategic issues such as ecological sustainability.

On Sept 17, Zhang delivered a speech at the XJTU IT Course Series for Central Asia opening ceremony. This course series marks the first training project to be implemented following the establishment of the Uzbekistan Innovation Center at Tashkent University of Information Technologies in 2023.
The courses will be offered online and offline, utilizing a diverse curriculum and the convenience of the internet to explore new forms of international teaching and inter-university exchanges.
The XJTU delegation participates in the Uzbekistan ICT Week.
On the same day, as the only Chinese university invited, the XJTU delegation participated in Uzbekistan's largest annual event in the field of information technology—ICT Week. The delegation visited booths from companies such as Huawei and ZTE, engaging with company representatives to discuss paths and methods for university-enterprise cooperation in Uzbekistan.

The XJTU delegation also visited Uzbekistan's Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation and held talks with Minister Konratbay Sharipov. Both parties expressed confidence that China-Uzbekistan cooperation will continue to develop for mutual benefit and agreed to pursue joint educational projects.
